BURNING
EMERALD, book 2 of The Cambion Chronicles will be in stores in 14 Days! Yay!
The story of
Samara and her sugar-addicted Cambion boyfriend Caleb continues and the supernatural
shenanigans pile sky high! The summer of love is over and Samara begins her
senior year under the social radar to avoid a hormonal craze with the male
students. The balance between the Cambion world and her own leads to vandalism,
food poisoning, attempted murder, and an unusual case of mistaken identity.
All these events
center on a mysterious stranger that comes into town to settle a score with Caleb
and claim Samara as his.
<—- hint:
It’s this guy! Hot!
But the feisty,
wise-cracking Samara Marshall isn’t anyone’s property and she alone decides who
she wants to be with. She only has to run that decision by her ‘roommate’ Lilith
first…
This may
sound like a riddle, but it’s hard to describe a book without spoiling the plot
or the story prior to it.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A really
messed up love triangle: I tend to poke fun of common clichés in YA and this particular
trope had it coming.
Twists galore: There will be a lot of “oh snap”
moments right up until the last page.
Snark: Samara would not be Samara without
her witty commentary involving the strange happenings in her town and her life
as a whole. But some of the humor gives way to a more emotional side of this cynical
protagonist.
Enemies:
A whole lot of evil comes into town and it’s a question of which one poses
the biggest threat…today.
Mia and Dougie:
Enough said.
So you enjoyed
the junk-food-eating, book critiquing, paranormal and suburban hijinks of LIVING VIOLET, then you’ll enjoy BURNING EMERALD.
